5th grade Adventure Ed
Date: August 29, 2024
Description: For 5th graders only, this day-long field trip helps our newest Bulldogs bond while doing outdoor activities. PTO provides a t-shirt for 5th graders to wear.
Free pizza Friday
Date: August 30, 2024
Description: To deliver the fun, and give parents a lunch break, PTO provides complimentary cheese pizza on designated dates.
8th grade Field Day
Date: September 13, 2024
Description: Our 8th graders enjoy an afternoon of obstacle course activities in the fields neighboring the school.
Penny Wars
Date: October 21, 2024
Description: This fundraiser pits grades against each other as they compete to collect the most pennies. Any silver coins (or dollars) subtract from grade totals. Fun prizes for the grades that collect the most!
Spelling Bee first round
Date: October 22, 2024
Description: The Roosevelt Spelling Bee is a student’s first step on the path to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Students often compete with other students at their grade level, in this first round.
7th grade social
Date: October 25, 2024
Description: At this social, the 7th graders enjoy a dance and other fun activities. Most often the event has a Halloween theme, but students can dress as they wish.
School-wide Spelling Bee
Date: October 28, 2024
Description: The Roosevelt Spelling Bee is a student’s first step on the path to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. In this final round, grade-level winners compete against each other for the opportunity to represent Roosevelt and advance to the next round.
Pumpkin Smash
Date: November 2, 2024
Description: The River Forest community is invited to ‘smash’ their pumpkins in a giant dumpster at Roosevelt, where our PTO works with a sanitation partner to compost them.
6th grade service project
Date: February, 2025
Description: Working together, our 6th graders partner with PTO to lead a school-wide service project.

Fun Fest
Date: May 2, 2025
Description: Our biggest fundraiser of the year, Fun Fest offers activities that middle schoolers love, taking place throughout the school. Students exchange tickets to participate.
8th grade graduation dance
Date: May 31, 2025
Description: This dance kicks off celebrations for our graduating 8th graders.
8th grade graduation
Date: June 4, 2025
Description: Our final celebration of our 8th graders and all their hard work. Our PTO partners with the school to help with graduation gowns, yard sights and graduation photography.
