ZERO WASTE
Did you know that D90 is a Zero Waste School District? This year, we need your help at home so we can continue our ZERO WASTE efforts! Please help your child pack a ZERO WASTE LUNCH, with these helpful tips.

WASTE SORTING
You can divert waste from landfills by waste sorting at home!  Every home in River Forest can RECYCLE, making sure that all recycled containers are CLEAN and DRY.  This video shows you how!  River Forest families can also COMPOST – contact the Village of River Forest to sign up!  

REDUCING FOOD WASTE
Did you know that 40% of all food produced in the United States is never eaten, while 1 out of 6 children in America is food insecure? Check out this At-Home Food Waste Activity from Seven Generations Ahead.  It’s full of helpful tips for reducing food waste and composting at home, including backyard composting and vermicomposting.
